Malanic Stormrider

I know this should technically be a scrap, but I'm leaving it here until I get a better version to post in its place. lolz. I don't draw backgrounds much either. I'm very proud of that pully though.

So, yeah. This is a character from a story that I would like to write, in which pirates area awesome (as always), magic exists everywhere, and mermaids and sea serpants are not just myths. Plus, there's another race of beings simply called "Flyers." They... fly. wow. bet'cha didn't see that one coming. Anyway, they have a particular liking for storms, there being so much wind and all.

So, this is Malanic. I haven't decided what she is yet (captain/first mate/crew) b/c I keep thinking of different stuff that could happen, and I can't decide whether it would work better if she was in one post or another. She doesn't always look like this either. She was human to begin with, but she had to make a blood bond with a mortally wounded Flyer, and a bit of the Flyer's powers and such were passed on to her. She can change from human to Flyer at will, most of the time. Sometimes, she has no control over when she "shifts," particularly during storms.

The three other people in the backgroung are David ("Davy"), Lasyren, and Chester. Lasyren is the other possibilty for captain/first mate and Chester is also a possibility for first mate. Davy's new to this crew, so he didn't know Mal could do this.
